WOMAN KILLED
CAR STRIKES POST (P.A.) HASTINGS, June 2. A woman was killed, her husband very seriously injured and another man seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling left the road in heavy fog last night at Pakowhai. They were: Dead Mrs K. Morse, aged 30, of Hastings. Injured K. Morse, aged 32, condition very serious. N. A. Day, Hastings, condition serious. After crossing the Pakowhai bridge about 9.30 o’clock the car failed properly to take the turn in the road. After colliding with three heavy fencing posts the car returned to the road, where it came into slight collision with another car which was following. Mrs Morse was killed instantly when the car struck the fencing posts. INJURIES PROVE FATAL (P.A.) WHANGAREI, This Day. When employed at the Portland cement works, Roy Eric Fyfe (42) married, with three children, was badly crushed between a truck and a wall, ribs being broken and internal injuries inflicted. He was taken to • hospital, -where he died yesterday.
