ACCEPTANCES FOR SATURDAY TOTAL OF IG9 REMAIN IN Excellent acceptances were received last evening for the opening of the Ashburton Trotting Club’s winter meeting next Saturday. A total of 169 of the entrants remain in, and divisions will almost certainly be required for the Improvers’ Handicap in which’ the 30 acceptors are all on 1 the scratch mark. Five further scratchings have been received for the Futurity Stakes, reducing the prospective field to eight, but all the well-performed candidates have stood their ground.
