ANNIHILATION OF RUSSIANS (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) MOSCOW, Jan. 21. The ex-German commandant of Kiev, Lieutenant-General P.urkhardt, admitted before a military court at Kiev, that he was responsible for the annihilation of 700 Russian citizens and the deportation of 25,000 young girls to slavery in Germany. The prosecution alleged that Burkhard t in August, 1943, ordered all inhabitants of Stalino Propelrovsk to be driven to the rear, causing scores of thousands to die of starvation. Another defendant, Sergeant-major Schadel, told the Court that the commanders promised “each of us” an estate in the Ukraine in the event of victory.
