LODGE MEETING
COURT ASHBURTON, A.O.F. Two candidates were proposed and accepted for membership at the fortnightly meeting of Court Ashburton, A.Q.F., last evening. The C.R. (Bro. R. J. Thomson) presided over a good attendance. Sick-pay amounting to £l9 15s was passed in favour of 10 members. Advice was received from the New Zealand Railways that arrangements had been completed for the transport of members, both of the parent and juvenile courts, and their friends, to Riccarton on January 19 for the Lodge picnic. Fares would be: Children under 15, 2s Id, children 15 and over, and adults, 3s 7d. A letter was received from the Ashburton U.F.S. Dispensary Board concerning the issue of a booklet , suggesting that lodges take part in a scheme with a view to increasing membership. Bro. R. W. Crowther and the secretary (Pro. W. 11. Amos) were nominated to draw up a suitable outline of the aims and objects of the Order. The installation of officers was held over until the next meeting. An enjoyable social hour followed business.
