THE WEATHER
WARM AND SUNNY TO-DAY With a nor’-westerly breeze and bright sunshine, conditions in Ashburton to-day were the warmest for some time. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 75.2 and 52.5 degrees, compared "with 63.1 and 43.3 on Thursday. The barometer to-day had risen p from 29.58 inches yesterday to 29.82. FAIR AND MILD (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone is over the North Island and a low pressure trough is approaching the South Island.
The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: — Fresh north-west winds predominating, descreasing to-morrow with scattered rain in the ranges, but ther elsewhere fair with warm day temperatures. Further outlook: Fair and mild.
