CHRISTMAS MAILS

NONE FROM BRITAIN (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. Advice has been received from the British Post Office that Christmas mails for New Zealand posted in England during the latter part of October and early November have been delays ed, and will not arrive in the Dominion until early in the New Year, said the Acting-Postmaster-General (the Hon. F. Jones) to-day. The mails mentioned- had in the first place been shipped to New Zealand by the Orion, but as reported, that vessel had to return to port with engine trouble. The mails had since been reshipped by the Athlone Castle.
