LODGE MEETINGS.
COURT ASHBURTON, A.O.F. Members of the District Executive attended the last? meeting of Court Ashburton, A.0.F., and of the Juvenile Lodge. About 50 juvenile members were entertained to tea. Items of entertainment were much appreciated. There was a good attendance at the meeting of the parent Court, the C.R. (Bro. P. J. Thomson) presiding. Sick pay amounting to £ls was passed in favour of 13 members. Bro. Thomson welcomed the visitors, the District C.R. (Sister I. M. Pratt) replying. It was decided to have slogans outlining the benefits derived by membership hung in the hall. The Management Committee was'’instructed to investigate the possibility of improving the accoustics of the hall. The Court adopted a recommendation from the committee that social evenings be held quarterly, and that the wives and friends of members be invited to attend three times a year.
DRUIDS MEET One candidate was proposed and two initiated at the fortnightly meeting of the Star of Ashburton Lodge, TJ.A.O.D. The A.D. (Bro. E. E. Beach) presided. . , The D.P. No. 8 District (Bro. C M. Green) advised that he would visit Ashburton on Monday ,to install the officers of the Star and Success ot Ashburton Lodges. Ap invitation to attend the installation of the Lily ot Temuka Lodge officers on Tuesday was accepted. .., . , k The Bards reported on visits to sick members and sick pay was granted to 12 It was decided to hold a social evening on December 17 to welcome returned brothers from active service. The arrangements were left to the social committee.
