MAN CAUGHT IN SHAFT (P.A.) AUCKLAND, December 3. CHILD DROWNED IN POOL (P.A.) GRF.YMOUTII, Dec. 3. Robert Charles Walsh, the 19-months-old son of Mr and Mrs C. Walsh, of Kaiata, was found drowned in a shallow pool at his parents’ residence ibis afternoon. The baby, wandered from the house and was missed a few minutes later. A search was made and he was found lying in the pool, only 18 inches deep. Attempts at artificial respiration were unsuccessful. BODY FOUND IN RIVER,,,, WAIMATE, December 3. Police, dragging the Waihao River on Monday, recovered the body of William Charles Hosking, aged 60, who left his home in Waimate to go fishing on Sunday. The discovery of his bicycle beneath a bridge at Studholme resulted in a search for his body, which was found in 10 feet of water. Hosking was married, with a family.
