PICTURE FILMS.
ST. JAMES THEATRE. Walter Wagner’s grand production “Ladies Courageous,” will have its first showing at’the St. James Theatre to-night. It tells a thrilling and dramatic story about the Women’s Auxiliary Ferrying Squadron—WAFS—which was organised in. 1942 with 25 of America’s outstanding young women flyers as members. It also deals with the private and intimate lives of the girls in human and humorous vein. Loretta Young is starred with Gerald' ine Fitzgerald. Anne Gwynne, Diana. Barrymore, Evelyn Ankers, Lois Collier and June Vincent head the predominantly feminine supporting cast. The associate feature is “I Thank You,” a comedy featuring Arthur Askey and a great cast of comedy stars. The serial will also be shown to-night.
Saturday's Programmes.
There will be another special children’s matinee at the St. James Theatre to-morrow. The feature will be Jack London’s great story of adventure in the North West, “Sign of the Wolf.” London is one of the greatest writers of adventure stories aud pictures made from his books make excellent children’s entertainment. Two cartoons and the serial will also be shown.
The evening attraction will be “The Man Who Came to Dinner.”
