INVASION FROM THE NORTH. AMERICAN FLEET ON “PROWL” BASE IN THE ALEUTIANS. (N.Z. Press Association— Copyright.) (Rec. 1.40) NEW YORK, June 28. The Tokio radio, warning the Japanese people to be on guard against an attack from the north, reported that the United States 9th Fleet, under Vice-Admiral Fletcher, was prowling in the North Pacific.. The United States Mountain Division awaited action at its base on Agatto Island, in the Aleutians. The radio also warned the Japanese that American paratroops were stationed throughout the northern region.
