MAY BE ALIVE.
RUSSIANS’ VIEW OF HITLER. MARRIAGE BEFORE BERLIN FELL. LONDON, June 9. “I can make no definite statement about Hitler’s fate,” said Marshal Zhukov at a press conference, reports Router’s Berlin correspondent. “It is very mysterious, as we haven’t discovered a corpse which could be identified as Hitler’s. “He could have taken off at the last minute. An airfield was at his service. “German General Staff diaries record that Hitler was married to Eva Braun. The wedding took place two days before Berlin fell. Eva Braun was with Hitler in a shelter on April 22.” The Russian commandant in Berlin (Colonel-General Berzarin), who was also present at the press conference, said: “I think Hitler is hiding in Europe, possibly with Franco. On the contrary, those close to him say he committed suicide.” The Burgomaster of Berlin (Herr Arthur Werner) said: “We know Hitler’s fate, but some people will say he is alive. We found so many pants with Hitler’s name sewn on them that it is becoming a standing joke with the Red Army. I am convinced Goebbels, his wife, and children are dead. Goebbels and his wife,- shot themselves after poisoning the children.
