engineer appointed. TIMARU, This Day. Major George Robert Milward, M.N.Z.1.E., M.N.Z.1.5., at present of the New Zealand Engineers, and engineer to the Southland County since 1935, Avas appointed South Canterbury Catchment Board engineer, from 18 applicants, at a salary of £BOO a year, at the meeting of the Board yesterday. Major Milward, avlio was born in Dunedin in 1900, is. a married man with hvo children. Educated at the Otago Boys’ High School, he continued his studies at the Otago University. In 1921 lie passed the examination for a surveyor’s licence and. was admitted to the Surveyors’ Institute in 1924. He passed the Engineers’ Registration Board examination for civil engineers in 1931, and Avas admitted an associate member of the N.Z. Institution of Engineers in 1931, becoming a full member in 1944.
