The Distinguished Flying Cross has been awarded to Flight Lieutenant John Louis de Beer, of Dunedin, and Flying Officer Bryce Drummond Jones, of Waikanae. —P.A.

The resignation of Mr T. R. Pollard from the position of senior lecturer in electrical engineering at Canterbury University College was accepted at a meeting of the college council. Mr Pollard has been appointed lecturer in electronics at the college.

Miss L. J. Robinson, who was one of the secretaries of the Hampstead Chrysanthemum Show for a number of ‘years, was presented last evening with 'a framed picture and box of stationery by the chairman (Mr J. Hitchins) on behalf of the committee in appreciation of her services.
