HOSPITAL CASES REDUCED. (Rec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, Mav 27. A total of 1,375,000 United States soldiers and sailors were sent to hospital in the European theatre of operations from the beginning of the war, but now there are fewer than 100,000 in hospital. Practically all the patients will be restored to duty in the theatre or will lie returned to the United States. This was disclosed to-day by Major-General Howley, chief surgeon to the United States Forces.
