U-BOAT SCUTTLED.
COMMANDER HANDED OVER. (Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, May 27. Captain Wenty, of U-boat 9G3, which was scuttled on Nazare beach, in Portugal, last Sunday, and the second in command, have been handed over to the. British authorities and sent to England by air, says a Lisbon correspondent. As their own naval authorities had ordered their surrender to the Allies under the terms of the armistice they could not claim local internment as belligerents.
The crew.of the submarine are temporarily detained in a fortress, near Lisbon.—British Official Wireless.
