There was a large attendance and the totalisator handled a record Southland turnover for a oneday meeting, £51,390 being invented, as against £39,7(54 last year, an increase of £11,626. Concluding results: Longwood Handicap, of £500; seven furlongs.—3-3 Sea Power 7.7 (Langford) 1, 6-8 Silver Mask 7.6 2, 1-1 Moneybird 9.2 3. Neele; four lengths. Time, 1.30 2-5.
