OBITUARY.

MISS EDITH LYTTLETON. (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 13. The death of Miss Edith Lyttleton, Avell known as the authoress. “G. B. Lancaster,” lias occurred in England, according to a cable message received by a brother, Mr G. C. Lyttleton, at Auckland. The eldest of a family of four, she was horn in Tasmania, and came to Canterbury Avitli her parents at the age of four, being brought up on her father’s station, “Rokeby,” at Rakaia. She Avas educated at Rakaia and Christchurch.

Miss Lyttleton left New Zealand when in her thirties, and lived abroad. Her last trip to NeAV Zealand AA'as about eight years ago. She Avrote a number of novels, among which “Pageant,” a story of early Tasmanian life, and “Promenade,” a novel Avith a NeAA r Zealand setting, achieved distinction.
