CONVOY ATTACKED.

ENEMY LIGHTERS SET ON FIRE. (Rec. 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 12. A Mediterranean naval communique states: Early yesterday, in bad weather, a force of British and American light craft patrolling south-east of Genoa met and engaged a convoy of “F” lighters. Two lighters were hit by torpedoes, resulting in fires and heavy explosions. Probably a hit against a third lighter also produced an explosion.
