FIFTY YEARS SYNE. (From the “Guardian;” Jan. 13, 1895). Grass Fire. —The fire brigade was called out yesterday afternoon to extinguish a grass fire in a paddock near Mr Mullaney's house in the north-west portion of the town. Commissioner for Tinwald.—A poll was taken at Tinwald yesterday to elect a commissioner to the vacancy on the Town Board, due to the resignation of Mr T. Williams. The voting resulted: D. W. Teppett 62, T. W. Petrie 3S votes. Mr Teppett was therefore declared elected.
