BIBLE-CLASS BANQUET.

ASHBURTON PRESBYTERIANS. An enjoyable time was spent last evening at the St. Andrew’s Bible Class banquet, at which there was a good attendance, including visitors I from other churches in the town. The leader of the Senior Young Men’s Class (Mr G. W. Murray) presided. The ceremony of unveiling the photographs of Messrs H. Willis and E. Idle, members who have made the supreme sacrifice, was performed by the Rev. J. S. Murray. Miss Dorothy Johnson recited “The Missing Piece” and Miss Ottolene Hunt recited “The House at the Side of the Road.” Miss Margaret Ross sang “Soldiers of Christ. Arise.” The following toast list was honoured: “The Church,” Mr J. Kelly*— the Rev. J. S. Murray: “The Bible Class Union,” Miss Margot Austin—the Rev. R. W. Brown (president of the Bible Class District Committee); “The Kirk Session and Board Of Management,” Mr Donald Russell —Mrs E. A. Cockroft and Mr A. P. Calder; “Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union and Girls’ Auxiliary,” Miss R. Bonnington—Mrs S. W. Gower and Miss V. Bonnington; “Sunday Schools,” Mr Desmond Whiting—Sister Mavis Patterson; “Ex-Members,” Miss Betty Sedcole —Captain H. Dalton: “Visitors,” Mr K. Cookson —Miss E. Prichard and Mr ly Fowke; “The Choir,” Miss N. Young—Mrs W. L. Sedcole; “Absent Members,” Miss Margaret Russell—Captain H. Dalton; “Departed Members,” the Rev. J. S. Murray.
