CLOTHING COUPONS.
EXPLANATION OF SYSTEM A statement regarding the monthly release of clothing coupons'' on Friday was made by the Rationing Controller (Mr J. E. Thomas) to-day. Clothing coupons in the new ration book will be released as follows: 19 clothing coupons (numbers 41 to 59 on sheet 14) and four wool coupons (numbers 7 to 10, also on sheet 14) are interchangeable and available for clothing, wool and household linen; three linen coupons (numbers 7 to 9 on sheet 15) are available for household linen only. This is a change from the present system of restrictive rationing of wool, all types of which, both white and coloured, will be available on all clothing coupons. “Coupons in the supplementary ration books are not affected,” said Mr Thomas, “but are available from date of issue and all clothing coupons except linen coupons may be used for purchasing wool as well as clothing.”
