WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

MEETING AT METHVEN. The roll-call at the monthly meeting of th,e Methven Women’s Institute was “The season I like best, and why.” A word-building competition was won by' Mrs E. Norrisli. Mesdames J. A. Paddy and Forrest judged the competitions as follow: Bloom, Mrs S. M. Jackman 1, Mrs W. H. Walker 2, Mrs Morgan 3; truss or spike, Mrs S. M. Jackman 1, Mrp Stone 2, Mrs Morgan 3; sugar-bag apron, Mrs. M. Stone 1, Mrs Walker 2, Mrs Regan 3; mixed flowers, Mrs S. M. Jackman 1, Mesdames Stone and Burrow,& equal 2, Mrs Walker 4; sandwich tray, Mrs S. M. Jackman 1, Mesdames Stone and Swaney equal 2, Mrs D. Little 3; marmalade, Mrs Burrows I, Mrs Morgan 2, Mesdames Stone and Swaney equal 3. Mrs F. J. Temporo sang solos, and a reading was, given by Mrs Sounness. The president (Mrs D. Chambers) presided.
