P. AND T. SOCIAL CLUB.
A social club has been formed by the Post and Telegraph staff at Ashburton. It is intended to hold dances and card evenings, and the first dance will be held on June 14. The following officers have been elected: Chairman, Mr G. B. Brown; secretaries, Miss M. Rogers and Mr R. A. Scannell; treasurer, Miss Rogers; trustees, Messrs Brown and F. Brassell and Miss Rogers; committee, Mrs Parish, Misses B. Clark, J. Gray, B. Reach, J. Brophy, J. Cornelius, Messrs K. McEaclien, K. A. Perry, W. Shannon, J. McDonnell. Brassell. F. Taylor and R. Sugrue. '
