ASHBURTON v. S. CANTERBURY.
A representative team from the South Canterbury Cricket Association will play a local team at Ashburton on New Year’s Day. When advice to this effect was received by the management committee of the Ashburton Association last evening, Mr S. Weeks was appointed manager of the local team —which has not yet been selected —and Messrs F. H. Bayliss and P. Willis were appointed umpires. The South Canterbury team is: L. Walker (capt ), G. Davies, G. Fitzgerald. T. Green, R. Milligan, S. Betty, R. Harley, I. King, B. Walker, C. Knox, S. Askey, W. Bradley (manager and twelfth man).
