ALLENTON BEATS METHVEN. The Allenton Croquet Club scored a decisive win over the Methven Club in the match for the C grade flag in the South Canterbury Croquet Association’s competitions, played at Allenton. Results were as follow, Allenton names being mentioned first: —
Doubles —Mesdames R. G. Turnbull and J. McElhinney 26, Mesdames H. E. Thompson and A. Walker 16; Mesdames C. Hale and J. Hawke 26, Mesdames Watson and Anderson ' 15; Miss M. Osborn and Mrs A. Griffiths 26, Mesdames Sandrey and Morgan 13.
Singles Mrs Turnbull 26, Mrs Thompson 20; Miss Osborn 26, Mrs Sandrey 13; Mrs Hale 21, Mrs Watson 19 (unfinished).
