BRIGHT PROGRAMME.

One of the brightest variety entertainments given in Ashburton will be presented in the M.S.A. Concert Chamber on Monday evening in aid of the funds for a picnic to Timaru for parents, wives and families of servicemen overseas.

Some leading Christchurch talent has been engaged, including W. Moore (“Redhead”), who will make his final appearance in a concert in New Zealand before joining the Kiwi Concert Party. Another performer will be Lynn Christie, a well-known saxophone player, who was conductor of the Australian Broadcasting Commission Orchestra.

The picnic will he held in January, and next-of-kin are advised to register their names at Todd’s Drapery.
