NEW DECORATION.

AN AFRICAN SERVICE MEDAL. (Rec. 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 16. It is officially announced by General Smuts that the King has approved of steps being taken for the institution of an “Africa Service Medal” to be awarded to all members of the Union defence forces and other uniformed services in the Union who were attested for service in Africa before May 13, 1943, the day on which Africa was finally cleared of the enemy. Men and women of all ranks will be eligible.
