CRICKET.

THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. A letter from the Lauriston Cricket Club stating that the club was prepared to enter a team in the competitions. if petrol for travelling was available, was received by the management committee of the Ashburton Cricket Association last evening. It was decided to apply to the local Oil Fuel Controller for a petrol allowance.

It was decided to communicate with the Timaru Cricket Association regarding representative matches during the season. The Association will vacate the Oval next Saturday for the Amateur Athletic Club’s sports meeting. The draw for Saturday is: Ashburton v. Air Force A, at Ashburton. Fairfield v. Air Force B, at Fairfield.
