BERLIN BOMBED.
DAYLIGHT RAID ON BREMEN. ENEMY LOSSES IN THE AIR., (Rec. 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 14. Bomber Command Mosquitoes oh Saturday night, without loss, bombed objectives in Berlin and western Germany.—British Official Wireless. American Flying Fortresses and Liberators bombed Bremen in daylight yesterday morning. In air battles with German aircraft, 53 of the enemy were shot down. American losses were 15 heavy bombprs and nine fighters.
The bombers were escorted by Lightning and Thunderbolt fighters, the latter making their deepest penetration into Germany. There w r eri> hundreds of German aircraft over Bremen including Junkers S7’s, which assisted the Mesjserschmitts and Foc-ke Wulfs. The Americans fought off the attacks and pressed home their blows on targets which included the port, the submarine factories, and the Focke Wulf factory.
Typhoons of the Royal Air Force attacked a convoy at the mouth of the Rhine yesterday, sinking a tug and two supply vessels. Other Typhoons attacked railway trains and river craft in northern France. Fifteen trains were damaged. From all the day’s operations the Royal Air Force lost seven aircraft.
