MISSIONARY UNION.
HINDS PRESBYTERIANS. The monthly meeting of the Hinds Presbyterian Wpmen’s Missionary Union and Guild was held in the Hinds Presbyterian Church. The Rev. V?. H. Carroll (hon. president) presided Over a good attendance. Both financial statements showed satisfactory credit balances. Two missionary letters were read, one from Mrs Currie dealing with the Maori Boy#’ Farm, and the other from Sister Marion Grey on missions in India.
It was decided to hold the next meeting at Lowcllffe on November IS. Miss Hawkins and Mrs Tarbotton were elected delegates to the conference in Dunedin next month. Sister Cliristobel gave an interesting and instructive address, for which she was accorded a hearty vote of thanks, moved by Mrs L. Moore and seconded by Mr Carroll. Afternoon tea was served by the Hinds ladies, assisted by members of the Girls’ Auxiliary. A sales table and a shilling mystery parcel were conducted, a satisfactory sum being added to the funds.
