OUT OF THE WAR.

THE CRIPPLED GNEISENAU. LONDON. Reports from neutral sources indicate that the German battleship Gneisenau may be out of the Avar for good. She is so badly crippled that the chances of her putting to sea are remote. After making her dasli through the Channel from Brest with the Scharnhorst and Prinz Eugen, she Aveiit to Kiel. Later she was moved to Gdynia, the Polish naval base. The last official news of her came from Mr A. V. Alexander (First Lord of the Admiralty). Last September he confirmed that she was dismantled and stripped of her big guns. It is; therefore reasonable to suppose that German naval experts have deemed her unworthy of complete repair.
