LOAN LIABILITY.

THE ASHBURTON POWER BOARD. SPECIAL REPORT SUBMITTED. A special report on outstanding liability was presented to the Ashburton Electric Power Board this morning by the engineer-secretary (Mr H. G. Kemp). It was furnished with the object of supplying information regarding the annual repayments of de? bentures and the reduction of loan liability, on which subjects frequent questions are asked. Of the total of £473,150 raised, stated the report, £98,154 had been redeemed, leaving an outstanding balance of £374,996. All of the outstanding liability will have been paid off by 1968, in redemptions varying from in 1959-60 to £4OOO in the last year. In the course of the redemptions renewals necessary (£6500 in 1947-48, £6600 and £B7BB in 1948-49, and £18,700 in 1949-50), but their subsequent- final paying oif was included in the figures given for the period till 1968.
