ROYAL FUSILIERS.

THE REGIMENTAL RECORD. LONDON. In a record of the service of the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) in this war the War Office states that the regiment has units in both the. First and Eighth Armies. That with the First Army, though a comparative newcomer to Africa, did valuable work in the northern sector, where they were among the troops who advanced from south of Sidi Nsir on April 11, and took the high ground flanking the railway east; of Sidi Rouine, thus helping to reduce the enemy salient in the Sejenane area. The Royal Fusiliers also did fine work in the Eighth Army, where they were among the troops who took part in the assault on the Mareth positions and the subsequent operations. The Royal Fusiliers have had a long and impressive experience of service in the present war. They were among the troops in the Eritrean campaign, where they formed part of the famous 4th Indian Division. It was this formation which took Keren on March 27, 1941, the mountain fortress on the capture of which our conquest of the Italian jEast African empire depended. The Royal Fusiliers saw their first action during the present war in the Low Countries. Later they fought depperate engagements at Messines a lid afterwards for three days at Nieuport, whence they withdrew by motor tranabort to La Panne,
