Miss Enid Pilbrow gained a bar to her medallion at the recent examination in first aid held by the Ashburton gjub-Branch of the Red Cross Society.

At the Timaru Competitions yesterday Daphne Grice, of Ashburton, with 91 points, won the tap hoys or girls under 14. Yvonne Wright, of Mayfield, was second with 90 points in the song and dance solo, any age, Adele Good, of Ashburton, was third in the recitation, girls or boys under 10, scoring 72 points, and Alison Fleming, of Lismore, was third in the piano solo, girls or boys under 14. Marlene Dobson, of Allenton, was very highly commended in the recitation under 12 on Wednesday.
