WELLINGTON, August 25. “From September an airgraph service will be available for messages addressed to civilians and members of the British and Allied forces in Kenya, Tanganyika, Uganda, Nyasaland, Zanzibar, Northern Rhodesia, Southern Rhodesia, the Union of South Africa, Mauritius, and Madagascar,” said the Postmaster-General (tile Hon. Mr Webb also said that there would be a reduced postage rate for heavier Christmas parcels for the armed forces in the Middle East, Great Britain, Canada, and elsewhere. The rates for Christmas postings would be: for parcels not exceeding three pounds weight, one shilling; parcels between 31b and 111 b, two shillings. This concession, which was in respect to Christmas postings only, would apply for the following periods: United Kingdom, Middle East, Africa, India, etc., from. September 1 to 30; Canada and other parts of North and South America and the West Indies, October 1 to 31; Australia, Fiji, and the Pacific Islands, October 15 to November 15.
