FIFTY YEARS SYNE. (From the "Guardian,” Aug. 25, 1893) Te Korero Club-*—There was a good attendance at the weekly meeting of the Te Korero Club. The subjeot for the evening was “Olla- Podrida,” and in accordance with the signification of the term, original contributions of a miscellaneous Character, including essays, poems, etc., were provided. Several of these were of some merit, and an interesting evening was spent. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO. (From the “Guardian,” Aug. 25, 1918) The Lambing Season —According to reports, the lambing season has not so far been very favourable to some farmers iu the County, who have lost more than the customary number of lambs. Whether the increased mortality is due to cold weather and shortage of pasture has not been ascertained.
