MEN CALLED UP

SERVICE IN THE FORCES. MOSTLY felGHffeEN VEARS OLD TOTAL OF 94 IN THE COUNTY. A gazette notifying the calling ul> of men for service, under the National Service Emergency Regulations was issued to-day. The list comprises principally men who have just attained the age of 18 years, with others included in it owing to various reasons. The gazette states that the men comprise those whose names appear in the register of classes S 18-19, S 20, S 2140 of the first division of the National Reserve, classes M IS-19, M 20, M 21-40 and classes C IS to C 40 (both inclusive) of the second division. A number of fchb men have already volunteered for service overseas or are serving in the Home Defence Forces. The total for the Dominion was 7536, of whom 1141 are in the Christchurch military area.
