AGAIN BOMBED

Hamburg has been attacked again according to an Air Ministry and Unit ed States Army Headquarter’s com munique, which states: “United Stater? Bth Air Force heavy bombers attacked targets in northern Germany while the United- States Army Air Force and Royal Air Force medium, light and fighter-bombers attacked German air fields in France and Belgium to-day Flying Fortresses attacked rubber factories in Hanover, U-boat and aiiciaft works at -Hamburg .and port installations at Wiihelmshaven and Wesermunde. Good bombing results were reported at all targets. . “Strong fighter opposition was encountered by unescorted Flying Fortresses, which destroyed more than 50 enemy aircraft. “Royal Air Force Bostons bombed an enemy airfield at Courtrai. Typhoon bombers attacked* airfields at Abbeville and Merville, and United States Army Air Force medium bomb ers attacked the airfield at St. Omev “In these operations the bombers were escorted and covered by squadrons of the Royal Air Force, Dominion and Allied fighters, which destroyed four enemy fighters. “United States Army Air Force Thunderbolts made sweeps over the coasits of France and Holland. “From all these operations 23 bombers and three fighters are missing.”— British Official Wireles^. A German communique says that the Royal Air Force raid on Essen last night caused heavy casualties and great devastation. The communique says that Luftwaffe heavy bombers attacked the town and harbour of Hull last night.
