RACING CONFERENCE.

THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The annual meeting of/the Now Zealand Racing Conference was hold today, Mr If. R. Chalmers presiding. The rules wore amended to empower owners training their own horses to appoint any person whose licence was not for the time being suspended hi take charge of his horse or horses at any race meeting at which the employer was not present. Provision was made for stipendiary stewards to issue emergency ridel - certificates where insufficient amateurs were available, for gentlemon rider races. Officers elected were:—President, Mr Chalmers (Wellington); vice-president, Mr W. Claud Motion (Auckland); executive, Dr. Macgregor Grant (Auckland), Messrs A. S. El worthy (Canterbury), L. C. Ilazlett (Dunedin), T. E. Coates (West Coast), F. D. Kelly (Hawke’s Bay), W. T. Hazlett (Southland), the Hon. J. McLeod (Taranaki), Messrs G. C. Glenn (Wanganui) and H. H. Green (Wellington).
