GERMAN SHORTAGES.
MORE ACUTE THAN IN BRITAIN. (Roc. lO.fit) a.m. LONDON, July 8. The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Economic ’Warfare (Mr Dingle Foot) declared in the House of Commons to-day that stocks of clothing in Germany are now being reserved for the exclusive use of victims of aerial bombing. - He added that about a month ago a very considerable cut was made in the German meat ration. It is now nine ounces weekly—rather less than half the amount available to the British. The shortage of consumer goods in Germany was very much more marked and much more stringent than anything known in Britain.
