LAST CHANGE TO INVEST. COMBINED LOAN DEMONSTRATION. Many country people will have their last opportunity to invest in the Tliiid Liberty Loan when they visit Ashburton to-morrow. For that reason a big combined demonstration has been ar-„ ranged to stimulate interest in the loan: i Starting at half-past two, the parade, consisting of military units and equipment, will leave Moore Street and pass up East Street to M ills Street ’and hack through the town. School children from the Ashburton primary schools and the Ashburton Technical High School will also parade. As examinations are in progress at the Ashburton High School, children from there will not take part. A strong force of aircraft of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will give a demonstration while the parade is in progress. From half-past ten to five o’clock bonds will ho on sale from a pic-cart in East Street. BANNER TORN DOWN. A crane mounted on a motor lorry tore down the Liberty Loan banner at the corner of East! and Burnett Streets as the lorry passed through Ashburton last night. The banner was very badly torn about.
