WOMEN’S DIVISION.

MITCHAM-ROKEBY BRANCH. The June meeting of the MftchamRokeby branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held with Mrs Wilkinson, vice-president, presiding. Sympathy was expressed with Mrs R. D. Penney in her recent bereavement . It was decided to take wool to knit for the merchant navy. A report on the recent meeting of the executive in Ashburton was given. Two letters were read from local soldiers overseas. Mrs A. W. Penney demonstrated the making of bread brooches. Ditty bags were handed in for the Air Force Relations. Competitions were: —Ditty bag, unUsual shape of potatoes and best bloom.
