TEMPERANCE UNION.
MEETING AT TINWALD. \ The monthly meeting of tho Tinwalcl branch of tho Women’s Christian peranco Union, hold yesterday afternoon, was presided over by Mrs Mellroy. There was a small attendance. Tho president conducted the devotions in song, prayer and Scripture, A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs McAulay in tho death of her husband after a long illness. Mrs' A. Waltelin reported on the White Ribbon paper, showing an increase in tho sales and subscribers. Songs, recitations and readings wore given by the entertaining parfjps, Mesdames Lnxton, A. Wakelin, Tropwood, and Mcllroy. Sealed orders were given ont to members for next meeting.
A satisfactory sum has resulted from the sales table each month to help with the election campaign in September next. Afternoon tea was served.
