FIFTY YEARS SYNE, (From the “Guardian,” June 25, 1893). Fearful calamity.—News has been received, of a fearful calamity in the, Mediterranean. HAL'S. Vitctord'a, of 10,470 tons, 15 guns, flagship of tho Mediterranean squadron, foundered with the loss of four hundred lives. Amongst those drowned is Sir George Tryon, formerly on tho Australian station. Captain the Hon. Maurice A. Bourge, and Contender Charles L. Ottley were saved.
