IF WAR ENDED TO-DAY.
GOEBBELS CLAIMS GAINS.
BASIS OF ABSOLUTE SUCCESSES.
(Rec. 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, April 29. “Germany will never give in,” declared Goebbels in an article in his newspaper “Dash Reich.” “Britain is at present scoring' only relative military successes. Frgm an absolute standpoint Britain has done nothing so far but lose. “If the war ended to-day we should have more absolute successes on oui hands than the keenest optimist could have expected, whereas Britain’s bal-ance-sheet would show many more losses than were ever dreaded by the deepest pessimist. We firmly hold the major part of Europe and are practically unbeatable unless we give in voluntarily, which is absolutely out oi the question. That should bo clear to everybody, including our enemies, who allege that we have put out peace feelers so they are able to proudly announce that they scornfully- rejected them. This is plain wishful thinking.”
