forthcoming matches. A friendly game between the Alienton and Ashburton Bowling Clubs wi)l be played on the Alienton green tomorrow evening, play starting at o o’clock. Entries for the Ashburton Bowling Club’s 3-bowls doubles and handicap singles (sudden death) will close next Saturday. The annual match between the Alienton and Ashburton Bowling Clubs and the Ashburton Club and M.S.A. will be played on the Ashburton green next Saturday. This match is one of the highlights of the bowling season, and given lino weather a pleasant game is expected. On the following Saturday, February 6, the annual match between the Soulh Canterbury Centre and the Ashburton Sub-Centro will he played on the Kia Toa green at Tiinaru. Each of the clubs in this district will supply two rinks.
On Saturday, February 20, the annual match for the Langley Cup between the Ashburton and Christchurch centres will he played at Rakaia.
