PERSONAL.

As a mark of respect to the late Mr John Murdoch Bruce, the flag was flown at half-mast at the Ashburton Club and M.S.A. to-day.

The Rev. H. A. and Mrs Childs, of Hokitika, and formerly of Tinwald, are spending their holidays in the Ashburton County. Mr Childs conducted the morning service at the Tinwald Anglican Church on Sunday.

Messrs W. Bryant and J. H. Chapman, chairman and secretary respectively of the Ashburton Hospital Board, left to-day to attend a meeting of the Waipiata Sanatorium Committee to-morrow.
