1 RATHER MUGGY CONDITIONS.

Conditions at Ashburton to-day were rather muggy, the sun shining at intervals through layers of clouds. The maximum temperature yesterday was 73.1 degrees, against 62 on Saturday, and the minimum 56.5, degrees, against 55.9. Standing at 29.68 inches, the barometer showed a rise of .06 from the measurement of 29.62 yesterday.

TO-DAY’S FOREICAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenhepn to Oamaru is as follows:

Fresh south-westerly winds, changing to south-westerly this evening. Weather cloudy to overcast with a period of showers to-night. Temperatures becoming cooler. , Further outlook: Becoming fair.
