Peyrouton’s appointment as Governor-General ol Algeria. The decision to summon M. Peyrouton from Argentina" was mat e by General Giraud several weeks awo, and also was subsequently approved by General Eisenhower. General Giraud, it is reported, regards M. Peyrouton as a skilful administrator without a pro-German defeatist bias m spite of his service in the Vicliy Cabinet.”
