MAJOR ADMITTED TO ORDER
WELLINGTON, This Day.
The Minister for Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) announced the following im mediate awards:
Bar to D.S.O.
Brigadier H. K. Kippenberger D.S.O. Wife, Mrs R. Kippenberger, Rangiora. Before enlisting at Christchurch in September,'l939, Brigadier Kippenberger served two and a half years with the first New Zealand Expeditionary Force and 14 years with the New Zealand Territorial Force. He sailed with the First Echelon and was promoted Brigadier in 1941. He was wounded in December, 1941, and subsequently admitted to the Distinguished Service Order, being also mentioned in dispatches.
Distinguished Service Order.
Major T. H. Bevan. Wife, Mrs G. Bevan, Onehunga. Major Bevan departed overseas with the Second Echelon and was mentioned in dispatches early in 1942. He had 12 years service with the Territorial Force before he enlisted in January, 1941. -
